Discover the unique history, charm and diversity of downtown Spokane

The Olmstead Legacy Heritage Tour was developed by Jennifer McWilliams, Historic Preservation Intern in the Spokane City/County Historic Preservation Office. The project drew upon research conducted by Sally Reynolds for the City/County Historic Preservation Office, including Olmsted Park Survey: Report and Plan (1999); Funding was through a Certified Local Government grant awarded by the Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation and supported by the National Park Service.

Special thanks are extended to the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department, including Leroy Eadie (Director), Nancy Goodspeed, and Taylor Bressler; Research assistance was provided by Rose Krause and Janey Davey of the Joel E. Ferris Research Library and Archives at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, and the staff of the Northwest Room of the Downtown Spokane Public Library.
