| STATEMENT
OF SIGNIFICANCE
|
| The Hathaway-Suksdorf House is one
of only a relative few representative examples of the French Eclectic
style of architecture in Spokane. It was designed by architect
Hyrtice C. Marsh for Dr. Joseph Hathaway and built in 1940. Marsh
was perhaps the most accomplished architect of the French Eclectic style
in Spokane, and the Hathaway-Suksdorf House is one of his better
renditions of it. The house is located within the Rockwood
National Historic District in south Spokane. |
