| STATEMENT
OF SIGNIFICANCE |
| The well-preserved A.L. Porter House is an exceptional example of the Italian Renaissance architectural style. It was constructed in 1913 by building contractor and real estate developer Gus Bostrom, and was purchased by Spokane lumber entrepreneur A.L. Porter. Reflecting a style rarely seen in Spokane, the Porter House is significant for its textbook adaptation of the Italian Renaissance tradition based on 16th-century Italian villas. |
