History:

Gustav and Emma Trapshuh purchased the property in 1903 and had this house built in 1907. The Trapshuhs owned the home through 1916, selling to Edward Sharp, an engineer for the Oregon-Washington Railway Company, in 1923. Sharp sold the home to John Stilz in 1945.

Architectural Description:

 

This one-and-half-story mansard with cross gambrel Dutch Colonial Revival style home has an asphalt/composition roof, mortared stone foundation, and narrow horizontal wood cladding with corner boards. The front (north) façade features a full-width hipped roof front porch supported by three columns. Wood front steps lead up to a half-glass front door. Cornice returns are featured in the gambrel gable faces along with battered wood shingles. The home additionally features enclosed eaves and metal sash single hung windows throughout.
