Statement of Significance

While the Ammann is not as elaborate as the other apartment buildings designed by architect Albert Held (Breslin, Knickerbocker, San Marcos), it was one of the first and is definitely representative of the architect's style.  Held's apartment buildings are listed on the National Register collectively in a multiple property nomination.  Handsome in its simplicity, the Amman is located along historic Riverside Avenue, one of the first areas where apartments were built in Spokane.  The building is very well-maintained and is presently used as an office building.
